Summer is over and the lakes will be icing over in the next few months here in Nebraska! Customers often ask us, what do the freezing temperatures mean for my boat dock and is there anything I need to do? It all depends on the type of dock you have, what lake you are on, if your neighbors use a bubbler or not, what direction your dock faces, and a few other factors.
There are a handful of lakes we almost always recommend a bubbler - like Lake Allure, Sandy Pointe, and Bennington. Now, not every single person at these lakes would even need a bubbler. It really just depends on the conditions specific per person.
How to Protect Your Dock With a Bubbler
If you are a DIY'er, you meet the criteria of if you need a bubbler for your dock and you want to go ahead in taking these precautions for your dock - you can certainly install a bubbler yourself! If you are one who would rather a professional do it, we'd be happy to add you to our list if you email us today!
How Does a Bubbler Work?
A bubbler works by inducing water movement in or around the dock to keep the water around the dock open and from freezing. So instead of allowing the water to freeze around your dock, the bubbler does not allow this to happen.
